Fort Simpson Teepee - Northwest Territories
The largest wooden teepee in the world sits on LiidIii Que First Nations territory in Fort Simpson along the McKenzie River in the Northwest Territories.
It was originally built in 1984 for the visit of Pope John Paul II and then rebuilt in 2016 by Pioneer Log Homes. We were asked to restore the structure to its former glory. This required first removing the existing UV and weather damage by blasting the logs with a crushed glass and and then applying three coats of Sansin Harvest Gold coloured stain.
